Got brand new tires. That helped a lot unless hauling a heavy trailer. So I figure that shifting weight off the front axle is adding to wander. Not an unreasonable load either. Probably 6-7k on a double axle trailer. No load leveling hitch.

By this description, any ideas where to start. I have not had the truck long and am not aware of past maintenance. Guy says he recently had the ball joints, etc done. I did the front hubs a couple thousand miles ago, due to noise.

2001.5, 2500 4x4, no suspension mods, 265/75-16 BFG KO's.

I have a new trac bar that I'm going to install. And thinking about a frame/steering box stiffener.

 

It could be one of the tie rods as well... Id check all of them

 

Guys at the tire shop assured me that 65 front and 80 rear is where trucks should be for tire pressure with heavy duty tires. I feel that with the diesel engine in the front that 80 in the rear is too much. So I lowered my tire pressure to 65 all around. Less wander now, but still need to do some front end work.

 

Thats possible too! I've seen unbalanced tires cause death wobble, or a front end shimmy
