Default not alot of boost?

hey guys. was hammering on the truck yesterday and i realized the turbo maxed out at 29 psi. i have straight pipe, waste gate blocked, and stock air box but K&N filter. i just bought a K&N e-1796 filter and going to build an air box out of sheet metal( kind of like a ice box) for it and thought that would help a psi or two but i thought i could get more out of my stock turbo. let me know.

think i have a boot leaking?

Sounds like you may have a boot leaking, just go through and tighten up all the clamps real good and that should solve ur problem. If it doesnt I would look toward the grid heater gaskets as they tend to leak as well and also check the exhaust manifold bolts to make sure theyre tight and check the bolts that bolt the turbo to the manifold too. As for the K&N air filter I wouldnt run it bc ur turbo will suck the oil through it and put in it ur intercooler and motor I learned that first hand. I would suggest a dry filter (AFE, AmsOil, BHAF)

What makes you think 29psi is low? You have no real fueling mods. With the edge ez that seems about right.

i agree with empty. 29 psi is actually a lil more than id figure an ez would cause one to make.

That's about what I ran when I had small injectors and stock turbo. hx35 ain't gonna take a whole lot more anyway. One thing I didn't do at first was I plugged the line coming out the turbo but didn't know to block the waste gate. Once I turnbuckled it I got 2-3 psi or so.

max boost for an hx35 is about 35psi anything higher starts to hurt the turbo
