I take it ill have to take the front cover off to pop the gear to get the whole thing off... Im likeing the idea of rigging a DC powered one more and more....

I dont think you need to pop front cover there is a cross drive that just pulls apart and then both p/s pump and vac. pump come out. Have you just pulled a line off with truck running to see if vac. is there. My main line comes up from pump to just beside blue pressue cylinder of hydroboost. It has a check valve in it. Is it a 4x4? If so make sure that lines going to front end and t/case are not off. Hope this helps pt

No its a 2x4 I'm going to take each hose off and check them for cracks. Then check the pump... This all happened after I took the truck to get a oil change at the local shop

On a 2 wheel drive the only things controlled are the AC vents and cruise control right? Because that's all I can see in the line comes from the pump to a t them one line to the back pass side by the trans fluid dipstick and then a line to the front drivers side connects to something under the battery

Sorry I'm not too sure on a 2wd. I would check at the pump main hose first and if there is nothing there while running then the pump has gone south . If there is vac. there...then check all the rest of the hoses. On mine the line going under batt. is to the vac. canister and yes the other one goes through firewall by a/c lines to controls pt

If I knew how to post from my black berry I would do it. pt

Heres pics I did on my iPhone but I got to post one at a time... Here's the vac pump. The power steering pump is right behind it in green. Then you can see the main hose from the pump

This is where the main line hits the T then the smaller one goes to the vac can under the battery
