Default A/C Issues

My 2001 is having some issues with the a/c ductwork. The fan blows very little air anytime but with the fan turned off at highway speeds theres a fair amount of air being pushed through the vents. From what i can feel with the fan motor out of the way the coil is plugged up with greasy nasty stuff so im sure i need to pull the dash and clean it out. Im looking for some insight on why im getting more air moving without the fan on??? Never had to work on the ductwork before any ideas or tips would be appreciated.

more air at highway speeds could be the fresh air damper is open and the pressure differential is pushing air through the coil into the truck. If you can see the dirty coil, there is a coil cleaner that will eat through that grime and grease you can spray it on the inlet side, wait and rinse. Save you from having to remove that coil which is a pain. hope this helps
