Is this a comment or statement? APPS reset and adjustment have been done?
What is a "power edge 5 stage chip"? Is it a Edge Juice With Attitude? If so, bring up throttle position as one of your monitored items and watch it when the issue happens.

Does a quick tap of the throttle do anything while idled up?

Yes i have adjusted and calibrated the apps... As far as the edge its the edge comp.. When the truck is idled up and i blip the throttle it revs up but the comes back down to 1100-1200.. Its been doing it ever since i had the head gasket done..

do you know if anyone may have stuck a smarty or some other type of programmer in it that could have had some type of high idle software that alters the factory ecm tune. on the other side the coolant temp sensor could possibly be misreading causing it not to show the ecm proper temp cause the high idle control is supposed to not kick in after 140 degrees on most softwares.
