Just went and bought a 01 and I don't really kno what the pyro is suppose to read its normally around 8 reads up to 15 and the trans might be unhooked cause it don't read over 140. And the trans kicks when I put it in drive. Is it goin out or easy fix?

8 would be 800 degrees before turbo if that is were the pyro is tappet in the manifold. That sounds right. What is done to the truck? 140 degrees for the trans normal it depends were the temp probe is (in the pan,on the supply line to the cooler).
" Kicks "do you mean luch forward when you put it in Drive?

1500 seems kinda high on egts depending on whats done to the motor. But 140 for the trans is a perfectly normal operating temp

sounds like its just got a really tight tc in it. most performance tc or trans will lunge when put in gear it comes from higher line pressures and lower stall speeds in the tc. i wouldnt worry unless it starts making noises or slipping.

There is a rubber plug on the bottom of the transmission were the TQ is. Remove that and see if there is a billet converter. Another way is to do a line pressure test to see if there is a aftermarket VB.
