I intend on coating the housings on my twins before installation but i won't be removing them just to see if they crack or not.

turns out they are jpretty small cracks, and wow what an improvement... waste gate on as normal, still pushing 23lbs of boost, before I was down to 20 with the waste gate pinched off, and now she ios down 2-300* egt. should have spent the $50 a long time ago

Keep in mind that a good tig weld should weld through the opposite side just like in a pipe weld. Depending around where your crack is you might be able to drop your housing off at a decent weld shop that knows what there doing and be able to get the job done. It doesnt sound like your trying to get insane with your stock turbo so getting it fixed "on a budget" is going to be the cheaper route till you can afford what you want. What do you guys think?

most cracks are in the area that can not be conventionally welded, and if they could the precise machine work needed to get the surface back to spec would be so expensive it would negate the repair cost and benefit compared to buying an upgraded turbo....
