How is the oil level in your power steering reservoir? The common thing your brakes and steering have is the power steering pump.

The reservoir is built into your power steering pump.

Ya, it is a bit of a bear to get to, I've recently had some power steering pump issues (leaks). Power steering fluid is what you need. Our, or at least my operators manual, says "DO NOT USE AFT".
