2001 ram steering/brake issues

my 01 cummins has no power steering and the brakes are hard as hell...

it started a while ago and would be fine if you let the truck warm up for ten minutes...now it doesnt work period...

no power steering sucks in this truck...help.

How is the oil level in your power steering reservoir? The common thing your brakes and steering have is the power steering pump.

It doesn't have a powersteering reservoir...its a hydraboost system

RAW 02-27-2011 08:18 AM

The reservoir is built into your power steering pump.

Ok I found it...on the back of the pump hidden by tons of hoses and stuff...thanks a lot

Atf or power steering fluid?

RAW 02-27-2011 08:25 AM

Ya, it is a bit of a bear to get to, I've recently had some power steering pump issues (leaks). Power steering fluid is what you need. Our, or at least my operators manual, says "DO NOT USE AFT". :tu:
