Default exhaust brake

Has anyone heard about a homemade exhaust brake. It seems like one could be made cheaper than the 1000.00 price of available ones.

Ive noticed than products that cost over $700 normally are worth the price. 1. because to build it yourself, it would most likely be around the same price and 2. theres alot involved in the product that take the know how and the tools to make it. i made an intercooler the same as spearco and after buying the core and welding it all together, it cost the customer about the same price as the Spearco

I don't think it would be too hard to make one, automatioI don't think it would be too hard to make one, automation would be a little trickier. On/Off switch, position sensor, solenoids/actuators, all easily acquirable. Not as easy by any means, but I think it is doable. Probably take a lot of time as well. But hey, I know a guy that fabbed his own compound kit in a weekend
