STARTS RIGHT UP, DIES, THEN STARTS HARD
I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH AN 01. It starts right up and runs for about 5 seconds then dies. it will start again but it starts real hard. no codes are present. anyone have any ideas? lift pump was just replaced but it did this before .
he just replaced it with another stock lift pump.

its not a fuel issue. the wait to start light comes on for just a couple seconds on the initial start then it wont come on again when u start it the second time. i will change the relay in the power dist. box and see if that changes the situation. if it doesn't then i will check the relays on the fenderwell and the grid itself.

it could be the cam sensor. the 01-02 go off the cam senor for the tach.
idk bout the wiat to start deal, but the starting up, then dieing and hard to start back up sounds like a fuel issue to me.

If none of those things are the problem, you might want to look into the sending unit in the tank. Some times those things get clogged and cause trouble. Does the fuel gauge mess up intermittently? Just another Idea if it is not electrical or a fuel pump issue. Realy the best way to test is with a pressure guage. If the electrical is not the problem. I agree with the reast of the members that it sounds like a fuel issue.
