im hoping for some insite on swaping an nv5600 out of a 03 common rail ho 4x4 in to my 96 2wd dually it is an automatic i know i have to change the output shaft to a 2wd drive one but the main main thing is does anyone know the gear ratio in the nv5600 cuz the 12 valve is going to be a daily driver or a toy im not sure just yet but im rebuilding the rear end and dont want to put one thats too tall for the 1st gear thanks

You will be fine with the OEM 3:54 gearing - especially since its a 2 wd.

what u posted said that the nv5600 was for model years 99-01 im get my brothers 6 speed out of his 03 common rail he said that its a 5600 cuz its the high output but the others are the g56 do you know which it is?

 

The NV5600 should be the same. Dont quote me on this but I believe you are correct - the NV5600 was for the HO trucks, there was a NV4500HD for the standard output trucks and the G56 came out later than 03.

You should be ok.

 

ok and the hydro's and pedals all should bolt up on to the 12 valve?
