Lift pump

I have not heard good things about the ddrp. I have installed an airtex and it is working so far, giving me about 18psi at idle and about 14 psi at 75mph.
The main problem with the ddrp, same as the airtex, is that it is placed on the block and is affected by the vibrations of the engine. The vibrations are what destroy the ddrp, and the stock lift pumps.

lift pumps
I have a DDRP on my 98.5 Dodge Cummins. They have been re-designed and mine works just fine. 24 pounds at idle, 20 pounds @ 50-70 mph running empty and 17 pounds pulling a long grade pulling my Featherlite 16' G/N horse trailer. It is mounted on the block and I have had no problems with the pump. My truck is stock and works well for my needs.
I believe the Fass/ Air Dog mounted on the rail would be better but they can be a chore to install, and are more expensive. It's totally your choice. Good luck
