If you are only looking for 400 horse an Torque converter, valve body, and billet input shaft should be plenty for you.

I would 2nd this. But since the transmission has 160k on it I would do a rebuild first. Putting a valve body and good TQ Converter in a tired tranny is not a good idea.

I should have specified that too. A good solid rebuild along with the shaft, TC, and valve body will be more than enough for 400 HP

This is from memory.

THe rebuild runs close to 500 Valve body is usually in the 400-600 range triple disk is 1100-1400 depending on brand and a billet input shaft runs in the 7-900 range

Save yourself the 800 bucks and don't do a billet input for 400 horse... If you're not doing locked shifts or truck pulling it's not likely to break under that power... A good single stage billet converter is plenty too for daily driving. I mean unless you have the dough to spend of course
