My father wants to beef up his tranny a little bit. I know nothing about automatics. I guess im looking for recommendations on what to do. Truck is stock right now but is heading toward 400hp max. Might as well start with transmission huh? any input will be appreciated

well, if the trans has never been out before it's probably getting close to being needed rebuilt. While it is getting done go for a good towing valve body a good converter and add some more clutches to the mix. I would probably go for a billet input while I was in there. But if he has any urges to head to 500+ a billet output is also a good idea.

 

I would do a complete rebuild with a Suncaost Extreme Rebuild Kit, Valve Body, and Triple Disc Converter

BD does a master rebuild kit, get a valve body and and nice convertor and you will be good to go. BD Power - Product: Build-It Transmission Kits

 

i just did a suncoast rebuild suncoast tc and bd vb and i can't believe what a different truck i have it was worth every penny to have this much truck, it really is a shame all that motor and so little slush box

 

I had mine built by performance innovations transmission. Google it. It was 2850 for a full suncoast rebuild, billet converter, upgraded valve body, Kevlar bands and all that good stuff. It handles the upgrades in my sig... So far
