Default VP44 / BD lift pump. issues

My truck has problems starting, put the nose down hill fires up (air leak, I know). I put a edge comp tuner on and was driving home, put my foot into it and let off. Anyways my truck cut out and I cant get it to fire back up. I bled the lines and tried again (no luck). No codes, batteries are new, good grounds (nothing visual). The inj. Pump is not even a year old! Could trying to start it with the air leak for a year and the edge comp with the BD pump fry the inj. pump? Truck was blowing white smoke every time I would start it. I know the BD pump is garbo but I just put it on 1 month ago and I really don't want to spend more money on a airdog! Do I need one to keep up with the edge? Also plan on throwing 100hp injectors in. Any advice would be much appreciated and helpful...

PS - First Cummins and I never want to go back to gasoline!

What kind of fuel pressure do you have when trying to start the truck?

Mechanic said pressure to the inj. pump is good. But told me there was a low pressure from lift pump code... I checked the codes before I took it in and found nothing. Starting to think no such code exists and they are just trying to void the warranty on the pump... Any ideas?

We need to know the pressure at wide open throttle.

Very bad idea to run an Edge Comp and injectors without a fuel pressure guage. You have a pyrometer I hope.

Hydro pump in inj. pump seized up. just got my autometer gauges today! I was running the edge on the level 1 with the fuel turned down. Think im going to order a airdog and a fuel gauge then injectors. Any ideas on turbo for 100 hp inj's, or will the stock turbo do?

Oh no, youll have too much fuel, imo. A turbo upgrade is in your near future.

Good call on the Airdog.

Id recommend a Phat Shaft 62 Turbo with 100hp or 150hp Big Dawg Injectors.
