250.00 is way to much. if you can drive to ravenswood, i can get that done for way less than half that much.

Thats a rip off. My local junk yard does the decking for $50. i would look else where. you can do O-rings in the head and it dont cost too much.

If you plan to bomb it (you have already started), get the head done right while its already off, or you'll be doing it AGAIN! I would O-ring it so it wont happen again.
ask me how I know!

I got a price to O-ring... This place said 110$ to deck the head 240$ machine and insert the o-rings. The guys said the press into the head slightly so they don't fall out. Sounds like a better deal but then i would have to use head studs for sure... Dammit.. 400$ is EXpensive!

studs/rings are a separate issue.

you dont need to use studs with Orings and vice-versa. IMO studs are better than bolts, but arent mandatory just because you got the head oringed.

I got the allen bolts from PAP. Do you think they will be ok with the o-ringed head then until say... December when i can afford to get studs to be extra safe?

always have the head decked. 250 is way to much just to have it checked and decked.

if ur going to o-ring it, i would put studs only in it. i pulled my head and put a HG and o-ringed the head, and then put upgraded bolts and lifted the head off the block and stretched a couple of the bolts.
