Default 01 cummins auto tranny issue

ok so my 01 cummins started something wierd today so i had a feeling it was the ouput sensor on the tranny since it has done this before very similar anyway, so i put it in and it did not change, the truck is not shifting form first to second but once it gets second it shifts normal or great infact i can get it to change if i manually move the colum from 2nd to drive but its hit and miss im gonna try to adjust the tv cable but like i said it changes perfect from 2nd on and down shifts fine it just hangs in first any ideas? no codes no nothing just hanging in first

Sup,

Maybe look into the last time the bands were adjusted maybe, fluid and filter change? Just throwing that out there. I know when I first adjusted mine I over adjusted and it would not shift out of first. Hope it helps, good luck with it they can be frustrating.

i changed fluid and had bands adjusted about 6 months ago i think i have over adjusted its dark here now but i tried messing with tv cable i have never had to do that and i am looking into how to do it the best what gets me is that i can put the colum in 2nd and shift it to drive and its perfect like all the rest of my gears are perfect downshifts and all i am leaning toward it being the cable it seems like alot of pople on this forum have had trouble with the first to second shifting problem? anymore ideas

I have installed this kit on several trucks and it has worked great the solenoid does not get clogged up with debris from the bands.
