Smoke rolling from drivers rear tire
Maybe the caliper was just sticking but not froze??
Another thing to look at is the brake hose. What happens is they breakdown on the inside but still look good on the outside. They can act as a check valve and cause the caliper to stick. The rotor looked good?

sorry to hear that chad, its a pain in the *** to do the wb, and the axle seals are
sooo much fun. i just had to to pads, rotors,wheel bearings ,pass side caliper, and axle seals...good luck bro!
