Well my truck has been acting funny, was driving along today and it wouldn't shift... just was stuck in 2nd...

On the way home tonight my transmission temperature light came on, and overdrive off came on.. and shifted out of overdrive..

Felt the bottom of my tranny pan, boiling hot... what would cause such heat so rapid?

It was fine the other day... just started happening today and yesterday..

Fluid should be fine, it was put in brand new about 2,500 miles ago.. fluid level is fine...

 

converter not locking up properly. thats whats making the heat. I would say a stator issue. I have broken 2 of them in mine so far.

 

Well hopefully the transmission shop I went to will warranty it.. they gave me a 1 year warranty and it was installed in like March/April.

 

sounds like torque converter or plugged cooler or line to me.
