Default wastegate actuator

I have a 2001 dodge 2500 cummins 5.9 24 valve. I was wondering if its a good idea to plug the wastegate actuator?

It has been said that it will reduce turbo life, and may cause turbo failure. If your looking for quick boost until a better turbo shows up, go for it. Running it long term is not advised. I ran my HY35 with a plugged wastegate for over 6 months, went from 18PSI to 29PSI boost doing so. That old HY35 still had good end play and side play when I sold it to a coworker. To this day it is still holding up just fine.

I kinda doubt that, but can't say for sure. Only one way to find out, eh?

Without a boost fooler or a programmer a 2001 will de-fuel at about 21.5 psi and prob set a code as well . I run 35 psi on mine with no prob for 90000 miles. Boost doesnt make power fuel does.

actually, they both do. an engine is just an air pump. the more air in and out the more power and the more efficient. just my 2 cents. it gets to a point that it can be over fueled and lose power compared to a good air/fuel ratio.

block it off and see what it gets you. mine has been blocked for a long *** time with no problems.
