your tranny will last as long as YOU want it to. if it is worked like it was intended at stock HP rating it'll last 150-200K miles no problem. but with those mods and "making sure they still work" it'll make the stock tranny's life alot shorter. mine in my 96 lasted to 150K and there was 70K of hard abuse.... i know others will chime in soon. and there are many aftermarket tranny shops out there and they all have their weaknesses and strenghtes. i wouldn't settle for a stock rebuild... get atleast a converter and a valvebody...

i play on it all the time from 3 - 5.only felt it slip once on the highway....if i keep it on level 1 - 3 it is fine. So pretty much I can either get one now, or at 150,000. So all my buddys sent me to this guy who build diesel drag trannys. He is going to build me one with a triple disc converter, deep pan, VBX valve body, red line race cluth, and some other things here and there for $2,200! Sounded like a good prive to me for sure!

Hmmm... I'm thankful that I got a 5 speed...
But as for the AUTO series... Anytime you start producing more power than stock with a AUTO TRANS you need to look at get it built. It is for sure the weak link in the chain. There is several articles about pump pressures etc...
Don't go cheap here...
