Swapping blocks?/ Cracked mine
it does have a place by where the dip stick goes in there is a plate with a 10mm screw holding it on i was told to put it there and it would work... idk if i have the ecm but i have the computer for the 02 and almost every thing that came off, lik the turbo the head the head studs, oil pan, ect. I think that if I didnt conect the crank sensor witch reads the rpms, that it would run like ****, because of the computer but im not totally sure on that one

If you try to run the '99 electronics and dont have the crank sensor hooked up and working correctly, then yes, it will run like crap, if it runs at all. But if you use the 02 electronics where everything is read off the cam sensor, then you dont need the crank sensor at all and it will run like a dream.
If you know the history of the 02 and its good, I would seriously avoid at all costs tearing it open. You could cause yourself more headaches in the long run versus just leaving well enough alone. "If it aint broke dont fix it..."
Damn, you caught me there - Im not sure about that now. I always thought that the 24Vs were all the same.

Well i know its got 117,000 on it an its too late its done been torn open before i got it, but it was my uncles so i know everything about it. It had the air filter sucked in and pulled oil through the pistons into the cylinders. Thats what he gets for letting the dealership take care of it HAHA
Curious to know - are they still recommending boring and sleeving these blocks, or are they now just boring them? (Cummins used to recommend boring and sleeving, even if the block was within tolerances.)
