Heater fan only works on high?????

i agree i had a 99 1500 and the dealer told me the sma ething, my heater core went out on me and mine went bad, thats what they said to replace.

well I messed this one up, yesterday I took a look and figgered the resistor must be in that lil box under there, poped it loose and a small motor and 2 plastic gears fell out, its the damn door actuator for the heater, now I cant get that POS back together, no damn room under there

Damn, that really sucks. I hope you don't have to pull the dash and the entire heater control box out to fix it. If you do, it's not that bad really. Enlist a buddy, a case of beer, and a day.
If you haven't found the one you are looking for, it is near the fan, 2 screws holding it in place. Towards the front, and left of the blower motor itself. Right beside the fan motor cooling tube. At least that is where mine is.

exactly what I found...........on the resistor itself there is a small jump leg on one of the terminals going over to another leg, the solder broke loose so I just re-soldered and its all good now

Theres not much better than a free fix. Dealer would have charged you $600 for that.
