I am thinking that it might be the blower resistor, being that it only has high the fan is at the straight 12v speed the resitsor would step down the voltages to lower the fan speed. It is under the glove box in the heater/ac housing should be faily accessable.

Change that resistor out and it's fixed, for now. The problem here is that those resistor are like $60 or somethin around there and if your fan bearings are goin bad they will keep blowin it. I went through 3 of em before I got smart enough to replace the fan.

The resistor that blkjack is talkin about is between the blower motor and the firewall. It has two phillips head screws. Its batween 50 and 60 bucks at Napa.

yup, resistor is what fixes the immediate problem, but might want to start looking for a new blower motor...I went through two resistors, at 100 bucks a pop from the dealer, in 1 month, before I got smart...

When I bought my truck it had the same issue. Pulled out hte resistor pack for the motor, and found a solder broken on the connections. Resoldered it, and it has been holding for the last 8 months. I believe this is a very, VERY common problem regaurdless of the logo on the front of the truck.
