ok my truck has been haveing a problem with shifting, when i first start my truck and put it in drive i have to go to 2000 rpm or it wont shift into 2nd if i go up to 1700 it wont shift but once it shift i can stop and go from first to 2nd fine its only when i cut it off and i also have to sorta pedal shift it in 3rd to 4th sometimes some one told me i need to buy a new valve body. i just wonted to see if he was right

 

how warm is the trans when this is happening? may just be the cold

 

it has been happening even when it is warm i can drive for 4 hours and cut it off and it still happens

well in my 2001 it was a solenoid in the tranny if i manually shifted from neutral straight down to first and went to second and into drive it works fine

 

Are you still running a stock trans? If so when was the last time it was rebuilt and how my miles are on it?
