We just fought this tonight on my truck cause bein the dingleberries we were out in the cold today we forgot to pull the 2 bolts out of the mounting bracket, by the way check that first, we pulled the front gear cover off the engine and pull the pump gear off and that made all kinds a room to get the pump free. Just remember to either mark the gear or turn the motor to line up the timing makes when you put it back.

Worked out for the better though cause we found my oil leak. When I replaced the crank seal last year the new seal folded under around the crank and was leaking. So I guess in screwin up we did good.

Only way for them to lock up so to speak is if ya missed the key way and even then the puller will still slide it right out. Been there done that to.

well we took the intercooler and everything out and broke a gear puller and still wont come out so for now it looks like its going to a real mechanic cause one guy told us it looked like the pump locked up and some how it all welded together.

did ya pull the crank cover off the front of the motor. Once thats off you can see the shaft and keyway right out in the open. if you pull that drive gear off the pump shaft and out of the truck from there that pump should wiggle all over the place. If it doesn't you still have one of the mounting bolts to pull. If it does wiggle but still won't back out then you still have the mounting bracket fastened in on the backside of the pump.

Really is no way for the pump to weld itself in, at worst the key way just missed the slot and is crushed in there but even that will back out with some good bolts in the puller.
