a set of bosh rv275's for injectors, a bhaf, you can leave the stock exhaust, a programmer, a lift pump, and AMSOIL synthetics the front and rear diffs make a huge difference

yeah thats what the thread is for, how to increase the fuel mileage!!
As u see K&N filter would give u about 2 mpg but your engine will suck in some dust not worth it. U can get the edge juice with attuide programmer as mentioned by Coco2992, this things will give u additional mpg up to 17%, so i am trying kind of get a list together for the 24V cummins on what to add, build, change or programm in order to increase the MPG on our 4x4s.

12psi at idle seems really low. Mine is at 24 with the FASS direct replacement transfer pump according to my Attitude monitor.

I'll add my .02...
Mileage varies greatly depending on driving habits, how the truck is loaded, etc...
I have three second gen VP powered trucks, and none get the same mileage. I have come to expect anywhere from 13 to 18 in town depending on the truck, and 17 to 23 on the highway. Experience has also taught me that mods don't really improve mileage any; instead I have achieved greater HP for roughly the same mileage. On the '01 in my sig, I started out at 17 mpg in town and 19 mpg on the highway, bone stock. I am now at 650HP and still average 15 mpg in town and 18 highway. No matter what I did to the truck, or how I drove, mileage NEVER improved more than 1 mpg for same driving. Just as an FYI, YMMV...

im thinking about switching to electric fans, supposed to give 6% better fuel economy, some more horsepower as well.
also looking at free spin hubs for front axle. that's supposed give upto 3 mpg increase.
bout 550 for fans
bout 1500 for axle upgrades.
