thanks guys for your answers and questions it led me to finally figure out my problem. it was the pump but what had really happened was the guy who owned my truck before had replaced most of the fuel system including the pump ecu and lift pump. where he went wrong was that he mached the wrong ecu with the injector pump apparently. the mechanic i eventually took it to told me this set up would work for a while and then ka bluie! which is what happened of course. so he replaced the pump for about $1200. i thought this was pretty good considering most of the places i found a pump was at least 1000-1500 bucks just for the pump. now the truck runs fine and im back on 50/50 oil/desiel. now i guess its time to fix that damn 3rd gear syncro thats out. thanks guys again
