I've had a little spurt of issues with my fp gauge. I have either lost seal on the gauge or something worse. At crank up it will jump to 15 then slowly go down to 5. On cold days it will start at 5 and slowly go down to 0. I've always had a problem with getting it working right and i do have an isolator. Should i ditch the isolator and run straight to the gauge? Or could it be the pump itself? Its only a year old, i tap the vp for pressure, hit the isolator, change to antifreeze, and go to a isspro gauge.

If i run it straight to the guage how would i prime the line?

EDit: i do wait to start, could that be a problem.

 

You could have air in the line going to the gauge, or a bad lift pump.

 

Well your going to have to pull the isolator just to test to see if the pump is working. Once you know the true pressures that will give you a clue. But if there is any air in the line after the isolator you can bet money the pressure is going to low.

As for myself I've been direct plumbed for years and just use a needle valve to dampen the pulses from the VP44.
