my 47re trans will not shift out of 1st till I let of the pedel or pass 30mph. after that it shifts 2-3-4 no problem, I think it's the gov. press. switch has anyone ever changed one and how do you do it?

 

is your tc going out??? thats what happened to me, so i replaced the tc and rebuilt my tranny and it shifts like a top now

 

Mind wouldn't shift out of first and it was the output speed sensor. Have you checked codes?

 

Sounds like speed sensor in trans.

When was the last time the bands were adjusted. My dads 01 was doing this. Adjusted the bands, problem solved.
