Default timing vp 44

Doyou have to time the vp 44 pump when you put a new one on and if so how do you do it

Timing the VP is fairly simple. Should be a key way that slips into the drive gear, making it a one way fit.

Just be careful installing that new pump. That key way WILL go in off center and if you do the pump is done, you need another new one. Use a mirror and check it often as you puttin it back together and tightening that nut down. I'm not gonna admit to how I know this little bit of advice but it is not hard to do. Matter of fact even in service shops they know that every so many of these pumps are gonna get trashed because of installer error on this key way.

It's not a hard project but go slow and watch close.

I nearly screwed up a new VP that way,I was near tears,but I managed to get it in right...very scary.

Luckily Blue Chip's after the sale service saved my behind on it. A perfect example of why sometimes the cheapest price is not the cheapest part to get.
