I was headed over the hills to Kalispell Mt this summer, was in left lane beside a Dodge pick up, when his front tires went in different direction from each other. I swerved so he didn't hit me, but the look on his face was something I will never forget. I then thought of my 99 Dodge with the new steering box, scares me at 75mph. 99Dodge ruffrider

I have also noticed that my right front tire is wearing toward the outside much more than the inside. Another clue?

So, I wonder if a bad alignment caused all of this crap. The truck was driving just fine when it had the 4" Skyjacker kit on it, and after I got it aligned when I dropped it 2". I had the tires rotated, and front end aligned, and all of a sudden this vibration showed up, the tire wear changed, and I got the death wobble.

That front tire wear makes me say it's probably a ball joint problem. You should be able to jack that tire off the ground and put a bar under it, pry it up and see if the tire has any play up and down.

Maybe soon I can check this thing out. Working 12 hours all week preparing for a TS audit and raising a 6 week old puppy don't help

I am in the middle of tearing down the passenger side to replace the ball joints. The front two hub bolts are giving me fits, but everything else has come apart ok. Any suggestions?

I have not done them yet BUT I am told that you need to put a extension and socket on the back side and use the power steering to force the bolt out. ED
