Default Truck died on the road

Hey guys,

I need some help my truck died on the road today on my way to work and it has no codes showing in the dash when I do the key to on trick 3 times. I was told that it could be the camshaft sensor due to no codes popping up and just die while driving. I changed out the sensor today and still nothing, I had a buddy help me and we cracked the injection lines at the motor and no fuel came out so I cracked a line right behind the injection pump and one leaked a little bit of fuel I opened another one and nothing came out. I'm guessing it is the VP44 that went out but I really am looking for anything else that it could possibly be so I dont have to drop 1000-1500 bucks to get a new one. If you guys think I'm right and that's what I need where can I get one with a good warranty and a decent price?? I have another vehicle to drive so I don't mind waiting around a few days to find some places. Also I'm pretty handy so how hard of a job would it be to do on a 2001 2500??
Thanks for all the help!!

I would check the fuel lift pump before I replaced the VP44.

The lift pump works fine I can hear it running and my fuel pressure gauge has 18-20psi after the filter going to the injection pump. Pretty much everyone is saying the injection pump is bad. So I tried to find people that would rebuild it but most just "clean" the electronics and not replace them if they are bad and rebuild the internals and they wanna charge 1500-1900 bucks so I bit the bullet and bought a brand new one from bosch. I know they don't make them anymore but rockauto had "new" ones for 2200 and I dont have to send a core out. Kinda steep but now I'll have a spare pump when I get the old one rebuilt.
