Metal to metal sound
I just started hearing a weird noise kind of a tick maby a knock this is a 99 Cummins dreded 53 block with 63,000 original miles also looking for a new long block soon but would like to keep this one going as long as I can before the swap don't know how to send a you tube link but I will try
i should have included more info the truck still runs good fuel pump vp44 was re[laced along with the lift pump truck has 63,000 original miles there is no modes this truck dose due pulling but nothing more than 6,000 pounds and that was once i drive it daily now befor this year it oly went out on wekends never been beat or abused
has this truck been sitting for a long time? that's some really low miles. try running some Lucas oil treatment in the oil and some lucas fuel additive or similar stuff in the fuel even add some Dextron 3 ATF to the fuel it is probably something simple.
Check your fuel quality for bad fuel maybe detonation.
I wouldn't worry to much about having a 53 block mine has 278000 on it. Best thing is to not shock it temperature wise, in other words let it warm up when its cold out and keep it plugged in when its extremely cold.

Go advanced on the lower post reply tab then select the weird looking icon next to the hour glass and the picture Icon and paste your URL there. (When you hold the pointer over the weird looking icon it will say insert link).
