Just got a 2001 6speed 24v and am wondering what is the best powerwise chip for the price, anddo i have to get a certain chip because of the manual, thanks

 

Chips shouldn't matter from auto to manual. Or atleast I have never seen one. I would get a tuner with gauges built in unless you have some already. I got the edge and love it. There are other options also like smarty.

 

Have a '02 5sp. ..... 4x4
Juice/Attitude works great. Screen gauges for fuel pressure, EGT's, boost, and tach.
I run in the 'economy' mode ....

No problems with this set-up ....... like it!

 

What do you guys think about getting a edge with hot unlock 6?

 

I didn't bother buying the mode 6 unlock. A friend has an edge stacked with a smarty and he uses level 6.

My truck is for towing, so I have no need for a level 6, that's something you'll have to think about whether you want or not.

 

The chip already has hot six, its used.The truck is just a work truck/daily driver that im looking for more power. she is weighted down with tools so shes a bit heavy and on the slow side.

 

According to the Edge site for our model trucks level 6 does not increase HP or Torque. But from banter I have heard across the interwebs it keeps fueling at 3200 RPM. But if you got it used and its already unlocked, that's great. I run mine on level 5 with low boost fooling at level 4. You can tell a big difference from where you are now. When it up shifts and goes back into the torque band, just hold on things are about to get fun.
