Default No lift pump

I have looked at quite a few 2nd gen and 1st gen and all that I've seen have a lift pump right behind the fuel filter canister . On my 2001 cummins 24 valve "stock" I do not have a lift pump. Only a block ( aluminum ) that the fuel passes straight through. ( Except for the block is tapped the entire way . This truck has some things that I have not encountered "still" after 4 yrs. I'm sure that the block that the fuel flow that passes through the " block " gets altered just by being tapped . My fuel pressure stays between 10 - 14 even at WOT. I was just curious about not having a lift pump. I'm am ordering a FASS system , but having issues in the meantime. It's like trying to drive a UFO

I believe Your lift pump is in the tank. And if you have mods you are going to want a aftermarket pump for sure.

With your LP being in the tank to do any aftermarket lift pumps will require a drawstraw.

^^^^^ What he said but don't get a draw straw. Usually cause 1/4 tank problems. Get a sump and you'll have no issues. I recommend beans diesel sumps but sinister diesel is good to.

Look up fass 150 cummins install on youtube. Click on the first video and the uploader is thoroughbred diesel and it's 54 minutes long. Fast forward to 4:15 in the video and watch until 6:00. This explains it perfectly and it's easy to understand

Yea, truck guy 99 is right a draw straw will give you 1/4 tank issues I have been down that road . I now have a sump kit I just have to put it in, putting my new engine in is first .

I understand about how to get the fuel to the IP . all other 24v that I've looked at , have another pump right behind the fuel canister. Mine does not have one . Is it possible to install a "booster " pump in its place ?

Sounds like you bought your truck used, you never know what someone else has done. If I was you I would put a sump kit on the tank and plumb in a nice electric fuel pump with duel filter kit like (fass) or somthing like that or if you want mech pump go with a assasin fuel pump,( DTT) and a duel filter kit that pump is a real good one, thats the one I have 60psi all the time, I am a 24-v P-Pumped but VP-44 you don't want any more than 15 psi has regulator for adjustment or you will blow front seal out of pump all ready been there done that...There is another company that has them but forgot there name.
