Default bad cam sensor?? or bad wiring??

So my truck has lost power drastically, still drives, takes off alright but then falls on its face and when going up a hill it feels like im in too high a gear and loosing power fast... my tachometer stopped showing my rpms, started flickering around then just dropped to 0.. and my oil pressure gauge went to 0.. kicks in and out while driving between 40 and 0 (with no change in driving)... I replaced the oil sending unit/ sensor... bought a new cam sensor (threw a cam sensor code 4xs) but couldn't get my fat fingers under the injection pump to change the dang thing. but when I called a local shop to have them install it (they are booked up) they think its a bad ground under my dash from the instrument cluster. Im not sure how to find that without removing the dash and tracing all the wires back from the cluster- any suggestions?? im currently driving it to work with the cam sensor unplugged and drives alright if I just take it easy but I don't want to cause any damage if the Timings out or its not getting enough fuel. any help would be awesome,
Thanks
