You can get a new map sensor from rock auto for $70 or you can get the map sensor and harness for $120

 

how do you take it out without cutting wires??

 

You unplug it. But wouldn't it make more sense to diagnose it first and make sure the wiring is ok considering its been modified? If they've cut the wires and and just straight wired the adapter seems like it might be a good idea to make sure its the correct year box and correct map sensor.

they didnt splice into the actual map sensor. they did on the edge adapters and i looked at it the other day. all of them are correct and the edge says right on it 2001-2002. i checked that before i bought it. but last night when i was driving it, it was normal with no check engine light then i turned the edge on and kept driving the around 65-70 mph lost power and engine light came on...
