I put in a double disk clutch.. I know the dd will rattle.. I get all of this but my tranny makes a rattling noise when the clutch is engaged and its in neutral. it also makes this noise when I'm bogging down the truck at a very low rpm... this tranny noise happened after I replaced my clutch to a high performance single disc and still does it now that I have a dd so it is not the clutch.. what is it?

 

have you checked to make sure it had plenty of fluid? if it does, and shifts good then wouldnt think it would be the trans.

any aftermarket heavy duty clutchs, single or dual disk will make new noises.

 

Mine sometimes has a very faint rattle in nuetral. I figured it.was.because the dang thing is so much heavier than stock.
