Default Headlight issue

Alright guys, I'm in need of some help here. For the past six months ive been drive with some terrible headlights so I ordered a new set this past week. They finally get in and as im replacing the old with the new I notice that there is another plug hiding in the fender on both sides. A neighor told me that this was my high beam plug. The headlight assembly that I took out only had one spot for a bulb, so i went out and bought 4 New bulbs. I put them in and what I previously thought were my high beams in actuality are my low beams. So when I kick on my high beams, they dim so bad that my running lights are brighter, and my low beams stay on with them. When i kick them back to low beam the highs shut off and my lows go back to normal. I cant find a bad ground yet, and put a new dimmer switch. To be honest im lost. Any input from you guys would be greatly appreciative.

To my knowledge only sport models come with separate bulbs for high and low beam.

Does it look factory?

I would trace the wires and make sure they aren't cut of damaged. Then try switching out the headlight relay.

If you have a multimeter I would check for the correct volatage and current as well as little to no resistance to ground on the coordinating wires.

Check your grounds. If your grounds are poor, then the lights will dim as the power will back feed through the other bulbs to get to some sort of ground.
