I am just curious on what is on the front of the powersteering pump?? This is my first dodge and diesel so excuse the ignorance... I have a small line dropping off what ever this is leaking engine oil has since I bought it and cant stand a leaker but not sure what or how to fix it? It is tight so not sure if it has like an o ring or what the heck it even goes to at this point Thanks

 

The thing on the front of the power steering pump is the vacuum pump. They are notorious for leaking oil. My truck has 72,000 miles and the vacuum pump leaks like crazy. The only thing you can do is reseal it with new gaskets and seals. A reseal kit is only about 20 bucks at genosgarage.com
