I recently bought manual tow mirrors for my 2002 Cummins 2500. I took the drivers door panel off and got the old mirror off. When I went to install the tow mirror the studs are alot longer than the stock mirrors. Also they are not fitting flush with the truck. Is this normal? I called several places an they said that these mirrors are the ones for this truck help?
Also these are not heated or electric.

 

They should fit fine. Seems a few people, including myself, have had issues mounting these mirrors. My studs were too short, and I had to thread them out a bit to work. Maybe yours aren't threaded into the housing far enough.

 

I had trouble also. Fiddle around with them for a while. Took me probably 3 hours JUST to get the mirror on correctly... good luck!

 

My mirrors came with a backing plate to make up for the longer studs. they also didn't fit flush until i got the bolts tightened down good

 

yea they are a pain. helps to have 2 people by the way!

 

Yes I was wondering if you had backing plates or not,The stud length can be a issue also

 

they also self the backing plate bracket youll want to get so they dont shake!!!! if not you will have them rattling ive seen

 

Yea without the support brackets they are pretty shakey!
