What engine temperature are you guys running?

Has anyone tried switching to an electric fan on one of these? As it's getting colder in the mornings, I'm thinking more and more about this.

I run about 170 in the winter months. Right about 190ish in the summer months, not towing. And, right about 205ish when towing my 28' 9200 lb travel trailer in the summer. Im good with that. If towing in summer on dead flat hwy, it will run just under 200, like maybe 195-197ish. chuggin along......

My truck is newer with the 6.7 in it, I put on a flex-o- lite elec. fan on which has a themostat on it. Honestly it hasn't helped at all as far as heating up any faster

Truck overheating/ wont warm up fast enough
Hey I am a new member and also a professional mechanic, and I don't want to challenge anyones intellegence but the problems here are very basic, (The engine is the only heat source) and the (Cooling system is the only cooling source) , if the engine is ever runnig hot, it means that 1: your coolant is low or missing, 2: your fan is not spinning at the correct speed (The most overlooked problem is the fan clutch), 3: your water pump is not pumping, 4: your radiator is partially or fully plugged 5: your thermostat is the wrong temp or defective (Never assume that if it is new that it can't be bad.)
If the system is not warming up then the only culprits are : The thermostat is too low of a temp, stuck open or missing or defective, or there is too much cold air flow across the radiator in which case you should 1: change thermostat (Stay away from aftermarket, most of these are made in china) 2: make sure that clutch on fan is not seized up (This happens more times than most people would think) 3: PARTIALLY cover radiator with cardboard or ETC. ( This should only be done in the winter time and don't forget to remove it as ambient temp warms up) A BAD WATER PUMP CANNOT CAUSE AN ENGINE TO RUN TOO COOL.
Hope this helps!
