How hots to hot?

Default How hots to hot?

Taday i went for a ride down some back roads was kinda rompin on it everything was fine then i tried to go over some farely big chipping piles in 2wd didnt make it some i put it in 4wd got myself out then shifted out noticed a funny smell burnin oil smell so i stoped and now it looks like one of my transmission cooler lines is leaking...if that happens is that why my tranny got so hot or did it get hot then stsrt leaking...how hot is to hot??

Oh and how do i fix this is there orings in the fitts that screw into the tranny?

It probably got so hot the o-rings became brittle, and failed. You may be able to replace the orings and be done with it. If they have wiggled enough and caused a groove, you may have to replace the cooler, and the lines going to it. <-Worst case scenario.

The lines are new i thought,heres a pic of the lines the one you can see the best is the leaky one...

That is your heat exchanger. They look like old lines from the picture. You could try tightening the fitting to see if it will stop leaking.

230* is about MAX you want to see.

It felt tight what else? New lines?

And it hit 230 forsure but not much higher....
