Default Hard hot starts?

Ever since a recent FRRP install I've having slow/hard starts when the truck is warm. Never had a y starting issues with stock lift pump. The first start of the day It always starts just fine. Not sure what the cause of it is? Can too much fuel pressure at start up cause issues? Or is this a sign of a weak injection pump? I know since the FRRP my TC lock/unlock issues went away. Lucky me. No FP gauge shame on me. Tested in when the FRRP was installed. Was only getting 10 at idle. Adjusted the pump until it got around 16-17 at idle.

Any Codes? Sounds like air could be getting in the lines. Check to make sure all lines are good and tight.

Tighten #9 on the below engine diagram and check your overflow valve.

I pulled codes awhile back. The scanner I used could only detect the 6193. Which means there is another code located on ecm I think. I may have to break down and have someone pull the codes. Could be a connecting issue.

Is the lift pump running when u try to start it? I've seen AirTran pumps from oriellys cause a hard start, but most the time a hot hard start is caused by a injection starting to go south.

Maybe a dumb question... But, is there an easy way to test injection pump to confirm that is the issue?

Worst case it is the injection pump, is this something I should live with till it quits or do I risk doing further harm to other parts?

not sure if its the same but my 92 6.5 had a bad pump and if you poor water over the pump and it starts better then its your pump mine would start all day long cold but not hot been stranded many times thats the easiest test i know.

I agree with sixshooter on this,if the truck is already hot and you pour quite a bit of water on the top of the pump and it starts normally then the electronics are going south. If that's the case I would look at changing it soon so it won't leave you stranded on the side of the road.

Sometimes it will pop a code, sometimes it doesn't. I know of one who has gone a year with hot hard starts. My ex boss told the guy it ain't the pump and hooked up a jumper to bypass the ip to get the lp to kick on. It worked. But instead of fixing the problem he just prolonged it and hacked up the wiring
