can my truck run with the computer not working? wait to start light doesnt work and fuel prime doesnt work unless u unhook the batteries. then a few days goes by and they will stop. the truck runs fine. trying to use a superchips tuner and at first it said it couldnt connect to computer "pcm" i believe then i reset the batt and all it will do is say reset to stock unplug tuner??? help plz

The truck won't run without the ECM working, and doubtful if the PCM isn't working. Best bet may be to take it to a dealership to have eh latest software flashed into it, and go from there.

The WTS light may just be a burnt out bulb.

 

Start simple. Leave the chip out and check fuses, relays, ground connections everywhere. Scan for codes?

 

no codes ever come up. and the light works it comes on when it wants to. just not when u first turn the key on. if u wait a min with the key on it will finally come on and you can hear the pump prime.. ive also noticed my high idle doesnt work anymore when. it did before....

ok so the pcm is located behind the aircleaner mounted on the fire wall??? i completly took it out and the truck runs and drives????

 

u know i am very displeased with this site. when you need help no one is really there to give advise. but lord and behold if i need to buy something everyone is posting. nothing but bull. this has been going on for a while with several situations. i guess its just time to find a better site! thanks
