Default steering shaft

Is there an upgraded replacement for a 92 steering shaft. Mine is very worn, but its a poor design. I'd like to replace it with a u joint style...

I suggest getting the shaft with two u-joints and eliminate the rubber disc (rag joint). If your factory steering shaft has the splined slip joint; the splines match the borgeson joint. Cutting the steering shaft behind the rag joint plate; the ID is almost exactly the same as the OD of the splined section. Weld the splines into the factory steering shaft and follow borgeson's directions from there.
