93 terrible brake pedal
ok guys i have a 93 cummins my dad bought new and the brake pedal has sucked since it was new. adjusting the rear brakes helps for a while then right back to bad pedal again. the brakes arent that good either. the truck mainly pulls the trailer all the time and it wont hardly stop a 20 foot goosneck trailer empty. we have put new brakes all the way around and a new master cylinder with no help. i even tried adusting the rod that goes into the master cylinder with no avail. i lastly bypasssed the ABS thing on the rear frame rail with again not helping. Any ideas on how to fix it? had a guy tell me that if i put a master cylinder for a 89 on it that will help but idk how. should be same part. thanks guys

Rear disc brake conversion is about the best you're going to get, may be able to put a "quick pick up" master cylinder in place of the cast. Don't know if the rods are the same length but just about every master cylinder has the same bolt spacing. Try a master cylinder off a hydro boost system. How's your vacuum? Booster ever been replaced? Inadequate assist can make stopping a pain in the nuts.

yeah converting to an entire hydroboost system is deffinetly worth it. i just did it on my truck. i havent towed anything with it yet but when i do im sure i wont have to worry about it. my pedal before didnt start stopping the truck until it was like 3/4 the way down and now it will put me through the windshild about 1/4 the way down.
