i want to put in a BD rachet shifter and make a OD contact switch in the shifter just like you'd have a fourth shift. and then have a switch for lock up on the thumb of the grip. so when you pull er out of OD position no toggles needed. i think it would be pretty damn slick! for you who have done the 47 swap are you happy with it what would you do different? what did your mileage do when you did the swap, and what did you swap from? i can get 17 MPG with a 518. i think with a lockup trans and corrected "short shifts" i could get 20!

I do have a bd slap shifter in mine the hard thing is like when you just slow down it wond unlock from lockup or overdrive by itself... Thats the prob i ran into so i just went with the switches and i an very impressed with the way that it shifts... I mean the way that i shift.. Lol.. I drive it like a manual, start in forst and slap it through -2-3 then flip locup at about 40 umder hard acceleration and at 50 for overdrive.. Very nice shifts..

A friend of mine did a swap on his old motor home with a 360 gas from a 727 to the 47rh and he put a pressure switch to control OD and tied a switch to the lockup from the OD pressure switch. He says it works fine to lock up and shift to OD at the same time and if he doesn't want the lockup he just turns the toggle off. Hooked up that way when the pressure switch drops it out of OD it also disengages the lockup.
